There is plenty of space to enjoy and play within the six acres of Skerryback's grounds. Barbeque on your patio on sunny days or play pool and table tennis in the games room when you have energy to spare. When it's time to explore, the adjacent bay at Lindsway offers one of the best south facing beaches in Pembrokeshire, being accessible only by the coastal path from Skerryback. Surrounded by tall cliffs, the beach is very secluded and at its best at low tide when golden sands and rock pools, with their secrets, are revealed.
Watersports
Sandy Haven has its own slipway into the estuary which allows launching and landing of sailing boats, powerboats and jet skis at all times of the tide and with ample boat storage all the year round at Skerryback it is ideal for all water sports. The estuary is one of the most popular diving locations off the coast of the UK with an abundance of shipwrecks both military and trade ships. If you are a novice and want to learn to dive then there are local diving clubs and equipment shops at nearby Dale. Secure seasonal or annual boat storage is available for Skerryback clients.
Fishing
Why not have a go at catching your own supper? The easiest way is on a mackerel fishing boat trip. Everything you need is provided. If you prefererod fishing, there's quite a bit of choice where to cast your line, from casting off the rocks and beach to classic salmon and trout rivers and purpose built lakes.
Golf
If you are keen golfer then why not try Milford Haven Golf Club which is less than 5 miles away.
Walking
The Pembrokshire Coast National Park is spectacular, breathtaking and easy to explore. You can join in the local events such as rock pool safaris, crab catching, bat walks and even time travel. Rare and unusual birds can be found throughout the area but there are particularly large populations on the islands, from which the cottages at Skerryback are named. If you don't fancy crossing the open sea, there are plenty of vantage points on dry land to practice bird watching, particularly the pills or estuary inlets like Sandy Haven.
Spring flowers on the coast and in the hedgebanks are special in May and June when carpets of pink thrift cover the hill tops. If you visit Skomer Island to see puffins, you will enjoy fields of bluebells and campion whilst you are there. Not far away is one of the best places for a chance encounter with wild dolphin, whales and porpoises. Cardigan Bay has a resident population of bottlenose dolphins and porpoises. They are frequently seen between St. David's Head and Poppit Sands from April to October. The wildlife rich waters also attract basking sharks, Risso's dolphins, humpback, fin and minke whales.
